Lake Granbury Art Association has named Dolores Grimm as Artist of the Month for April with her watercolor painting titled “Summer Hide-a-way.” Grimm is from Dellroy, Ohio but has resided in Granbury for the last eight years. She has been a member of LGAA for the past four years. Grimm’s art is on display at Independent Bank in Acton at 3301 Fall Creek Highway. Others honored for their art were Marilyn Haskins and Joanne King. The featured artist at the Visitor’s Center this month is Lynda Robinson and the featured artist at the Conference Center is Cheryl Moore.
Winner will get a mention in the Hood County News and wins a $25 gift certificate.
An Artist of the Month- is chosen during the general monthly meeting. Each participating member brings their work to be judged by the attendees. Members and guests alike are encouraged to vote for what they consider to be the best piece displayed.
Up to 5 winners display their works at area banks for that month, and the top winner displays their work as well as being spotlighted in the Hood County News. If the artwork you submit for Artist-of-the-Month is in a glassed frame, and you are the top winner, you are asked to provide a photo of your work. The glass creates a glare on the art and makes a less than satisfactory photograph to submit to Hood County News.
The top winner must skip 2 months before entering again. Only members in good standing may participate. One entry per member. All works must be ready to be displayed (framed, etc.).
