Artist of the Month

Local Artist Pamela Fritz was named Artist of the Month for October by the Lake Granbury Art Association.  Fritz’s painting titled “Zen” is an abstract of a Water Lilly. Her art will be on display at InterBank, 4530 E Hwy 377. Fritz has been a member of LGAA for almost 20 years.

Others receiving accolades for their art work were Pam Shultz, Teri Daniels, Vickie Pflueger, Marilyn Haskins and Cynthia LaBuda.  Suz Canter is featured artist at the Visitor’s Center.  Phyllis Webster is the featured artist at the Convention Center.

An Artist of the Month- is chosen during the general monthly meeting. Each participating member brings their work to be judged by the attendees. Members and guests alike are encouraged to vote for what they consider to be the best piece displayed.

Up to 5 winners display their works at area banks for that month, and the top winner displays their work as well as being spotlighted in the Hood County News. If the artwork you submit for Artist-of-the-Month is in a glassed frame, and you are the top winner, you are asked to provide a photo of your work. The glass creates a glare on the art and makes a less than satisfactory photograph to submit to Hood County News.

The top winner must skip 2 months before entering again. Only members in good standing may participate. One entry per member. All works must be ready to be displayed (framed, etc.).
