Lake Granbury Art Association has named Tony Hale as September’s Artist of the Month with his oil painting titled “Night Out”. Hale is a new member of LGAA and a native Texan. He just recently opened Vintage Roads Antique Mall on Morgan St. His painting will be on display at Your Private Collection Art Gallery on the square at 106 N Houston St. Others honored for their artwork were Lori Cathy and Cheryl Patterson.
Winner will get a mention in the Hood County News and wins a $25 gift certificate.
An Artist of the Month- is chosen during the general monthly meeting. Each participating member brings their work to be judged by the attendees. Members and guests alike are encouraged to vote for what they consider to be the best piece displayed.
Up to 5 winners display their works at area banks for that month, and the top winner displays their work as well as being spotlighted in the Hood County News. If the artwork you submit for Artist-of-the-Month is in a glassed frame, and you are the top winner, you are asked to provide a photo of your work. The glass creates a glare on the art and makes a less than satisfactory photograph to submit to Hood County News.
The top winner must skip 2 months before entering again. Only members in good standing may participate. One entry per member. All works must be ready to be displayed (framed, etc.).
