Have you made your New Year Resolution? Most artists would say, spend more time creating art! So here's your spark to get going. Lake Granbury Art Association hosts the one of the master artists of Granbury, James Spurlock, on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 7 pm at the Shanley House Gallery, across from the Granbury Library.

James is internationally collected artist with a dedicated following. Among his many accomplishments are the portraits of the fallen officers of many Texas cities including Fort Worth and Dallas, a commission of George Washington for Conressman Roger Williams and James most recently painted General Granbury. He is also featured in an article in Dallas magazine '360 West' January 2020 issue.

We invite you to join us for James' demonstration of water-soluble oil paints, a consideration for many artists with health issues. He will do a rub-out with water-soluble oils to achieve a quick block in ready for color. Come early, as it always a full house because James is a super entertaining, amazing artist with a wealth of knowledge.

Devoted students continue to study under James' tutelage with monthly bootcamps created to advance skills. James is also a member of LGAA and has offered us a $50 workshop on February 15. And now you can have a lesson with James Spurlock as he presents an "X" painting group paint along.

Everyone is welcome to this exciting demonstration. Light refreshment served.
